BUAC Electives is a private program designed for the mature and self-disciplined home school student willing to abide by all the guidelines and expectations of BUAC Electives. In keeping with homeschooling ideals, parents are in charge of and take full responsibility for their students’ behavior and education while they are at BUAC Electives.
The following expectations/guidelines should be carefully noted and understood by families attending Bluegrass United Electives:
1) BUAC Electives is a Christian organization. All behavior, dress and class instruction should reflect Christian ideals.
2) Students who attend BUAC Electives are expected to be mature and self-disciplined. To that end:
3) Absolute respect for Ashland Avenue Church members, staff and facility is required. Among the expectations are:
4) Students are to be respectful of other students' private property. This includes all personal items, including food items.
5) Since BUAC Electives is a popular program currently operating with a waiting list, BUAC students must respect their placement in the program by:
6) Upkeep and cleaning of the BUAC facility is the responsibility of BUAC students and parents. Students shall clean up after themselves at all times. In addition, they are responsible for assisting with cleanup at the end of the day. Students will be contacted via email when it is their turn to serve on the cleaning crew. It is the responsibility of the student to find a replacement if not available to serve at the assigned time.
7) BUAC Electives Leadership serves the academic center in an administrative capacity. It does not monitor students, but does deal with disciplinary issues as they arise. Based on the authority given by parents in the "Contract of Understanding" signed at registration, BUAC Electives Leadership has the legal and moral authority to administer discipline as it sees fit. This discipline may include suspension or expulsion from BUAC Electives.
8) Bluegrass United is committed to building community among high school students. To that end, “pairing off” among students is not allowed.
